What is Hemodialysis and Why is it Necessary?
Chronic kidney failure is a condition where the kidneys cannot fulfill their vital functions such as filtering the blood, removing waste products (such as urea, creatinine), and maintaining fluid-electrolyte balance. In this case, Hemodialysis treatment is a life-saving medical procedure that performs these vital functions outside the body with the help of an artificial kidney (dialyzer) and an advanced machine.
As Bali Dialysis Center, hemodialysis, which is the main service we offer within our organization, is carried out accompanied by our high-tech devices and our expert health staff experienced in their field. The main purpose of the treatment is not only to extend the lifespan of our patients, but also to bring their quality of life to the closest possible level to that of a healthy individual. High-Tech Dialysis Machines and Biocompatible Filters
In our clinics, the latest technology devices of the world’s leading medical brands (Fresenius, Gambro / Baxter, etc.) are used to seamlessly implement dialysis programs tailored according to each patient’s individual tolerance. Our advanced ultrafiltration-controlled devices minimize sudden fluctuations in patients’ blood pressure (cardiovascular), thus preventing cramps, weakness, and post-dialysis fatigue.
In the selection of artificial kidneys (dialyzer / filter) that come into direct contact with blood during treatment, we prefer completely biocompatible, disposable synthetic membranes. Biocompatible filters do not trigger the patient’s immune system and minimize the risk of chronic inflammation. As Bali Dialysis Center, we are strictly against the reuse of filters or blood sets and do not apply this method under any circumstances. Our standard is the opening of zero, sealed medical sets for each patient in each session.
Expert Nephrologist and Responsible Physician Follow-up
Hemodialysis treatment is not just an act of connecting to a device; it is a highly complicated medical follow-up that requires attention and multidisciplinary expertise. At our center, each hemodialysis session is conducted under the supervision of our Responsible Dialysis Physician and our consultant Nephrology Specialist.
According to our patients’ monthly blood tests, cardiological conditions (risks of heart attack/heart failure), and bone-mineral metabolisms, machine parameters are individualized and updated every session. Our experienced nurses and physicians with intensive care backgrounds immediately intervene in the slightest blood pressure drop (hypotension) or rhythm disorder that may occur during dialysis. For your safety, our emergency response unit (Defibrillator and Crash Cart) is constantly ready for use.
Comfortable and Sterile Treatment Environment
Our greatest goal is for our patients, who spend an average of 4 hours three days a week in our clinic, to feel at home in their own lounges rather than in a hospital environment. Our halls are designed with spacious, wide, and natural light-receiving architecture.
- For each of our patients, we have electronic patient beds / chairs that are fully orthopedic, motorized, and whose head, back, and leg parts can be individualized.
- You can spend time without getting bored during treatment with personalized LCD televisions and free (Wi-Fi) high-speed internet access.
- Our halls are equipped with central air conditioning and HEPA-filtered ventilation (infection control) systems.
- To eliminate the risk of cross-infection (Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C), care is provided to our patients in completely isolated, separate devices and separate treatment halls (VIP quality).
