The Role of Periodic Checks and Imaging
Kidney failure is not a simple disease that can be followed only with urea or creatinine values; it indirectly affects many organ systems such as the cardiovascular system, bone calcium metabolism (Osteodystrophy), and the lungs. As Bali Dialysis Center, our medical philosophy is not just to have our patients go in and out of dialysis machines, but to support and keep under control the quality of all organ and tissue functions with periodic medical imaging (Radiology, Cardiology) tests.
With the imaging and follow-up services we regularly perform within our clinic and through our strong partner physician network, we detect possible complications long before they bother the patient, and perform early interventions (preventive and protective medicine).
Comprehensive Imaging Organization with Contracted Centers
Daily routine ECG calibrations and basic follow-ups are performed instantly in the clinic by our responsible physician and nurses with intensive care experience at our center. For advanced radiological examinations beyond this, our center makes special organizations with “Contracted Private Imaging and Heart Centers” without tiring its patients.
- X-Ray (Chest X-Ray - Tele): When heart enlargement (Cardiomegaly) or fluid accumulation in the lung (pulmonary edema) is suspected, chest X-rays are quickly taken and evaluated in order to determine dry weight much more clearly.
- Color Doppler Ultrasonography (Fistula Follow-up): The flow rate, vessel thickening, and narrowings (stenosis, thrombosis) of the arteriovenous (A-V) fistulas, which are the “life path” of patients undergoing dialysis, are regularly mapped with doppler ultrasound by the contracted heart surgery team. If necessary, they are directed to vascular surgery follow-up without losing time for angiography or new intervention (PTA - balloon) procedures.
- Bone Density Measurement (Bone Densitometry - DEXA): Screening planning is organized annually or at six-month periods to detect renal bone diseases that may be experienced because the non-functioning kidneys cannot activate Vitamin D and due to intense phosphorus/parathormone toxicity.
- Echocardiography (ECHO - Heart Ultrasound): The cardiovascular structure is sensitive in kidney patients. Left ventricular enlargement and failure symptoms are screened with echocardiography within regular cardiology physician consultations.
Appointment, Transfer and Fast Result Coordination
Our dialysis patients are never bothered with radiological appointments and waiting in line. When advanced imaging devices are needed;
Bali Dialysis Center medical secretaries create a VIP appointment queue for the relevant unit from the contracted hospital. Our patient is taken to our center or the contracted institution with the help of our health personnel if necessary, accompanied by our clinic shuttle vehicles (transfer services). As soon as the shooting is done, digital radiology reports (PACS system) fall directly onto the computer of the responsible physician and consultant Nephrologist at our center.
